Australian Aborigines are native to Australia and have lived in a territory called the Arnhem Land or northern Australia for almost forty thousand years. Some of the Aborigines live in government housing today, while others still live among the land as their ancestors did. Aborigines are an ethnic group that also has many religious beliefs. They believe in Animism which is the belief that living creatures and the outside environment contain supernatural powers. Their culture and beliefs resonate in their music. Their belief in Animism is reflected in the rhythms that they use that originate in the environment. Another part of Australian music that is characteristic of that country is the use of the didjeridu. This instrument has become a symbol of Australian music and has a rich history in the ethnic music that the Aborigines play. It is also made and performed by these native people in very unique ways. The history of Australian music would not be complete without highligh ting the importance of the didjeridu. Proper nutrition means that you are receiving enough foods and supplements for the body to function at optimal capacity. It is important to remember that no single nutrient or activity can maintain optimal health and well being, although it has been proven that some nutrients are more important than others. All of the nutrients are necessary in different amounts along with exercise to maintain proper health. There are six main types of nutrients used to maintain body health. They are: carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and water . They all must be in balance for the body to function properly. There are also five major food groups. The groups are: fats and oils, fruits and vegetables, dairy products, grains, and meats. Exercise is also an important part of nutrition. Exercise helps tone and maintain muscle tissue and ensure that the bodys organs stay in good condition. Healthy eating without exercise will not result in good nutrition and a healthy body neither will exercise without nutrition. The most important thing about exercise is that it be practiced regularly and that it be practiced in accompaniment with a healthy diet. It is also desirable to practice more that one sport as different sports exercise different areas of the body. Carbohydrates, proteins, and fats are the sources of energy for the body. The contained energy is expressed in calories. There are 9 calories per gram in fat and there are about 4 calories per gram in proteins and carbohydrates . Carbohydrates are the main source of energy for the body. This energy is mostly used for muscle movement and digestion of food. Some sources of carbohydrates are : grains, fruits, vegetables, and anything else that grows out of the ground. The energy in carbohydrates is almost instantly digested. This results in a quick rise in blood sugar which is soon followed by a drop in blood sugar which is interpreted by the body as a craving for more sugars. This sugar low may also result in fatigue, dizziness, nervousness, and headache. However, not all carbohydrates do this. Most fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains are digested more slowly. Fats, which are lipids, are the source of energy that is the most concentrated. Fats produce more that twice the amount of energy that is in carbohydrates or proteins. Besides having a high concentration of energy, fat acts as a carrier for the fat soluble vitamins, A, D, E, and K. Also, by helping in the absorption of vitamin D, fats help make calcium available to various body tissues, in particular, the bones and teeth. Another function of fat is to convert carotene to vitamin A. Fat also helps keep organs in place by surrounding them in a layer of fat. Fat also surrounds the body in a layer that preserves body temperature and keeps us warm. One other function of fat is to slow the production of hydrochloric acid thereby slowing down digestion and making food last longer. Some sources of fats are meats and nuts as well as just plain oils and fats. Proteins, besides water, are the most plentiful substance in the body. She has less value than Adam, is more open to the wiles of the devil, and has less care for the creation of God, or so Milton would have us believe. However, since they do not, he appears to be making the decision for her, since there is not enough time to indulge in the irrationality of women, men instead must rule over them, and make their choices for them, as they do not have the skills of logic to do so. The poet gives his lady little choice in the matter: what seems persuasion could, in reality, be an order, with the position of women so far below that of the men of the time. John Donne, also scolds his lover for her renitence in going to bed with him in his poem The Flea, telling her that to do so is no more A sin, nor shame6 than being bitten by the flea, and, having both been bitten by the same flea, there was no longer anything between them, as in this flea, our two bloods mingled be7, and so, has made one blood made of two8. Here, Donne is doing very much the same as Marvell in To his Coy Mistress in disguising his order as a persuasion. This could suggest that he feels women less capable of the emotion, which would make them mere objects, indeed, as George Parfitt claimed, women are being celebrated as objects for male gratification. Even in love which supposedly surpasses the need for beauty, Shakespeare still feels the need to list the physical appearance in his Sonnet 130. This, again, heightens the sense of objectification. It has been claimed that the objectification of women had been a constant in lyric poetry since its inception19. Of course, in much male authored poetry, there is no sign of the female, or very little. For example, in Wordsworths Ode, he refers only to the growing Boy20, the use of the masculine seems to eradicate and exclude the feminine, except, perhaps, in the use of the female as the earth: Earth fill her lap with pleasures of her own21, but yet, the male comes trailing clouds of glory22 from heaven, and so is higher than the female, who is restricted to earth. Women could be seen to hold power in some male authored poetry of the courtly tradition, perhaps creating the fear alluded to by George Parfitt in his quotation. Philip Sidney, in particular, looks up, not only to Stella, but to other females: his muse calls him a fool28. He also makes reference to stepdame study29, a sentiment repeated in his Seventh Song of Astrophil and Stella, where study has been abandoned, and it is stepdame nature30 that antagonises the poet. Boase suggests that this suggestion of female authority could demonstrate a Freudian theory in that the poet deliberately chose a woman whom he had o right to possess because he was sexually inhibited by a mother fixation.
